Science has been important subject taught in the Buddhist Monastery and Nunneries as the Dalai Lama during annual meeting of the society for Neuroscience on Nov.12,2005 in Washington DC said ” Although Buddhist contemplative tradition and modern science have evolved from different historical, intellectual and cultural roots, I believe that at heart they share significant commonalities, especially in their basic philosophical outlook and methodology.”
Jangchub Choeling Nunnery Celebrated its 3rd Science Anniversary on the 9th of April as of half day Science exhibition ,displaying various scientific concepts and short skits on Newton laws, introduction of some women scientists and shared some relevant scientific concept to fellow nuns in the evening by science student nuns.
It was hard work and effort that was well guided by two nun science teachers Thupten and Choyang la whom has the opportunity to study in Emory University as Tenzin Gyatso Science scholarship student. There are more number of nuns as up coming leader such as two science department coordinator Nyima Lhamo and Paldan Zangmo sharing their hard work and timeless effort for this program.
