Abbot
Presently Geshe Lobsang Dawa La (Jamphel Tsondu) is our abbot and he is from Gaden Jangtse Hardong Khangtsen. He is the head of the nunnery and has full authority over how to run the nunnery. The tenure of the Abbot is for three years and he is there to guide and look after all the nunnery’s external and internal affairs.
Disciplinary head and Assistant
The discipline head also known as Gegu in Tibetan is responsible for the overall discipline of the nunnery assisted by her assistant nun known as Chapre. Their service tenure is for one year and after every year, the nuns have to elect a new Gegu and Chapri. 2024-2025. The Disciplinarian of the nunnery is GESHEMA TENZIN CHOEDEN la from Tibet and she completed her studies of five canonical texts.
DOLMA CHOETSO la is the chapri or the disciplinarian assistant of the nunnery. She is from DHA – YAB, Tibet. She completed her Buddhist studies.
Chant master
The Chant master is also elected by the nuns; she is mainly responsible for leading the prayer services. The Nunnery’s newly elected chant master’s name is GESHEMA TENZIN NAMDOL la from Mundgod and she is currently serving her first year of chanting service at the nunnery.
Administrators
The nunnery appointed three administrators who have to handle different duties, one nun served as cashier, one nun as accountant; one has to attend outside related work like meetings. The administrators are fully responsible for all the administrative works of the nunnery. Their service time is for two years.
There are many other staffs who take on different responsibilities and the administrator is the one who has to look after all these duties. Ven. Phuntsok Dolkar la from eastern Tibet Kham Lokha is the eldest administrator of the nunnery accompanied by her two companion Ven. Tenzin Dolkar la from Nagshod, Diru in Tibet and Ven. Ngawang Chozom from chungpo, Tibet .
Examination committee
We have a separate committee called the Examination Committee; consisting of three senior nuns, who are responsible for supervising the annual examination session. They have to set up the examination dates and sitting arrangements. They need to get ready with all the question papers and make overall arrangements. They are responsible for all the examination-related work. Current examination committee members of the nunnery are Yangzom Negi, Sonam Dema la, and Sonam Choetso la.
